Dine with Charles Murray on June 8!

At Intellectual Takeout's Spring Gala, Charles Murray will be discussing the climate of intolerance on college campuses.

By now, you probably heard about the riot at Middlebury College involving Charles Murray, a respected intellectual with a B.A. from Harvard and a Ph.D. from MIT who authored The Bell CurveLosing Ground, and Coming Apart. Murray estimated that there were probably 200 protesters who shouted him down. Some went so far as to physically assault Murray and those who were with him, even chasing them to another location and leaving one professor with a concussion.

The Wall Street Journal called the protesters, "an angry mob clearly unable to challenge him intellectually." Murray himself stated that, "many looked like they had come straight out of casting for a film of brownshirt rallies. In some cases, I can only describe their eyes as crazed and their expressions as snarls." He went on to warn that the "intellectual thugs" may completely take over college campuses in the near future.

Such violence and intolerance by future leaders of America is cause for tremendous concern. At Intellectual Takeout, we decided to take a stand by hosting Charles Murray for a private dinner on June 8, 2017, at the McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus. He will be discussing what's happened to our colleges and what can be done to restore academic freedom.

If you want to take a stand for academic freedom and rational discourse, please join us on June 8! In doing so, you will help us continue to reach millions of Americans while challenging "intellectual thuggery".
